Are Your Workouts Spicy Enough?

Variety is the Spice of Fitness

VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF FITNESS

DIVERSITY IS KEY

When it comes to working out the muscles of your body and achieving a total transformation, diversity is KEY. Perhaps you or someone you know has hit a fitness-oriented plateau or has struggled to shed those last several pounds to reach their target weight. Diversifying your workout is a key tactic to help push past the barriers holding you back, get OUT of your comfort zone, and finally achieve your ultimate fitness goals.

FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU

Perhaps the biggest challenge with all the options out there is finding what works for you! Our bodies are genetically unique with individual experiences, so what works for a friend or family member may not work for you. Do your due diligence and take time to explore the different kinds of exercise. A good starting point to narrow down the plethora of options is to relate the kind of exercise to what your specific fitness goals are. If completing a marathon is a big target for you, CrossFit may not be the way to go. If your goal is to be more active with your kids, what might that activity ACTUALLY look like?

WHAT ARE YOUR FITNESS GOALS

Variety plays another crucial role in achieving your fitness goals when you begin mixing different types of exercises. Focusing on just one type of exercise or workout can create imbalances and may be counter to your goals. Cardio training, for instance, strengthens the cardiovascular system but depletes your muscle mass. Resistance training will increase muscle mass but reduce your flexibility and endurance. Yoga improves balance and flexibility but falls on the lower end of the intensity scale. By diversifying the kinds of workouts in your routine, a balanced exercise program, like a balanced diet, can prove vital to maximizing your efforts and efficiently reaching your fitness goals.

WHAT IS VIP

This philosophy is at the heart of the fitness programming at Eat the Frog Fitness. Our Variable Intensity Performance (VIP) Training, designed specifically to keep the body guessing by utilizing antagonistic exercises, periodization, and rotation through the body, pairs with our various training session categories (Cardio, Strength, and Agility) to deliver a personalized mix of traditional and functional exercises tailored to help you realize your goals.
